Implant lets paralysed man ‘play guitar’

For the first time in six years, a quadriplegic man can move his fingers again after a chip was inserted into his brain. The chip reads brain signals which are interpreted by a computer. Precise stimulation of muscles with electricity restore movement so daily tasks such as pouring water and playing the guitar are possible. With more training it is hoped that Ian will be able to do many more tasks with increased ease. This is such an exciting development and the full article can be read here.
